June 2 · DPS Noida organised a Yoga Session on the occasion of International Yoga Day. The session was conducted by Department of AYUSH(Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani. Sidha and Homeopathy). The staff and students of the school assembled to practice the important yogic asanas and kriyas.
June 4-15 · 17 students and two teachers visited Melbourne, Australia as a part of the first ever Indo-Australian Student Educational Programme. They stayed with the students of Mt. Ridley College, Melbourne and experienced the Australian way of life and culture closely. They learnt how well the ethnic groups were integrated into the system of Australia. They attended classes on Woodwork Science Experiments, Art, Food technology etc which were specially designed for them to optimise the learning experience. A comparative study on Australia/India was a thoroughly interesting session 74 with enthusiastic participation. The Indian delegation visited interesting places in Melbourne and Sydney which included Blue mountains, the Great Ocean Road, Sydney Harbour among other picturesque locations. It was a rich educational experience paving the way for a long association with Mt. Ridley College, Melbourne.
June 6 · Mrs. Kamini Bhasin, Principal DPSN, was awarded an Appreciation Letter by the Gautam Budh Nagar Administration at the ‘Pratibha Samman Samaroh – 2016′ for the exceptional school results and the excellent reputation maintained by the school in both academic and co-curricular arenas.
June 9 – 25 · Mrs. Ramona Arora of German Department attended a Teacher Training Programme at Berlin, Germany, ‘Berlin Heute – Berlin Today’ . The programme was sponsored by Goethe Institute, Max Mueller Bhavan. It provided the participating teacher with a rich insight into the history of Berlin, post the second world war.
June 10 – 12 · The young dancers of DPS Noida won medals at the All India Dance Sports Championship 2016 held in Chandigarh where they represented the State of U.P. which won the Overall Championship. Anasvi Srivastava of DPSN won Gold Medals in classical and free style dancing. Yashita Srivastava won a Bronze in the classical Dance and Gehna Srivastava won a Silver medal in the Folk Dance style.
June 11-13 · The Swimmers of DPSN won a record 21 Individual Gold Medals while creating 8 new individual records at the 47th Junior U.P State Swimming Championship, organised by U.P Sports Directorate and U.P Swimming Association at Meerut. 300 participants from different districts in U.P participated in this prestigious meet. Seven of these students have been selected for the Junior National Swimming Championship to be held in Bangalore.
June 25 – July 1 · Two students of class VIII attended Germnan Language classes and workshops on Germany – applied Geography, the land and its people, at Wayanad, Kerala in a Youth Camp, organised by Max Mueller Bhavan. June 26 · The Interact Club of DPS Noida was awarded the Governor’s Platinum Award for its contribution towards social causes at ‘Abhar’ – Rotary Thaksgiving Ceremony held at Taj Palace. More than hundred schools participated in this grand ceremony, in which DPS Noida was one of the only two schools of Noida to receive this award. In the event, which was a recognition of the yearlong hard work done by the students, Zonal Interact representative Syona Singh and District Interact representative Akaanksha Varma of DPS Noida received awards for their exceptional work during the year. June · Mr. Vijay Rawat, of the Dance Department, performed in Norway as part of a project ‘Untamed Donkeys’ showcasing the mindset of men in a patriarchal system, a mirror to the culture of India through a series of performances in public spaces . This group aims to bring about a change in the mindset of people. Its Indian premiere will take place in November 2016.
